Holly Powell-Jones is a former broadcast journalist who works a professional media tutor, alongside academic work as a doctoral student and lecturer.
Her research and teaching specialism is ‘Online and Social Media Law and Ethics’. Her work in secondary schools focuses on educating pupils about legal, safe and responsible use of social media, the Internet and digital communications. She also runs professional training for school staff, parents, journalists, academics, charities and businesses. Her academic work explores youth cyber deviance and what students perceive to be the criminal, civil and social risks online. She also teaches university courses relevant to journalism, media law and ethics, criminology, new media and sociology.
